I’ve added the title “mother-of-the-bride” to my list of defining terms for myself. In a few short days, Nina and Lucas will wed in the woods in the Ohio countryside. We’ll eat and dance and laugh (and cry…let’s be honest!) together as we celebrate these two precious souls.
To say I’m excited for this wedding would be accurate but I’m really excited for this marriage!
Watching God continue to work and to be there to witness, support, and love them both all along the way…
This is something I know a little bit about…marriage. I’ve been doing it a few years now. Not always well but those were usually the times “Jan” got in the way. I think of my daughter becoming a wife. I am amazed how much farther ahead of the game she is already than I was at that point. But that goes back to faith…
Her faith and her desire to grow and deepen her relationship with Christ. All is owed to Him. That is the foundation and when all things, including marriage, grow from this solid ground, life is sweeter and right and easier, really.
We are thrilled to give our Nina to Lucas–the man I’ve been praying for years and years without even knowing his name. Praying that God would be preparing him. That he would love the Lord above all else but that he would love our Nina almost as much! And then one day, POOF! There he was. The perfect match for Nina and she the perfect fit for Lucas.
God is so faithful…
God is so trustworthy…
God is so good!
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”
Such unimagined joy! Let the dancing begin!
